ACCESS STATEMENT
A statement of our facilities, with description, for guests with disabilities and special requirements. If you have a particular enquiry about your accommodation or surroundings, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We are situated in the small village location of Hare Street, which is 2 miles east of Buntingford in East Herts. Cambridge is 20 Miles north of the village, with good road connections. Local Taxi firms and Private Car Hire companies are able to transport guests to local railway stations at Royston / Ware. Buses do pass through the village but are on a limited service.
The property is on a slight slope in its own grounds. The village has pavements but these are not very wide.
We have 2 double bedrooms each on an upper floor and 2 double put-u-up beds downstairs.
Someone will always be here to welcome you, give you your key and show you around. We have our own car park, but you must remember to lock your car. The surface is flat and laid with gravel. We have some outside lighting to help with walking at night.
There is one step up to the front door, which is 39" (89cm) wide. We can provide a ramp should one be required. There is an outside light by each front door.
In each unit are spotlights and the floor is wood with a large rug.
The Dining area is on the ground floor, as it is integrated with the kitchen and lounge, this is where the sofa bed is located.
In the Kitchen the electric hob is 36" (100cm) high, as is the microwave and work-surface It has spotlights to the ceiling, under the wall units and above the hob.
The electric oven has two adjustable shelves and has a drop down door.
The fridge has an icebox and further freezing facilities are available. The Fridge again has adjustable shelves.
The Dining Table has an under height of 34" (86cm), with 4 adjustable chairs.
Crockery can be found in a cupboard 58" (147cm) from the floor and glasses in a standing floor cupboard.
The Bedrooms are on the first floor accessed by a spiral staircase. each has a king size bed. There is a double sofa bed available on the ground floor if required. The clear space under the main bed is 11" (28cm). The height to the top of the mattress is 23" (58cm).
The building is a natural Oak frame with beams showing in the bedroom ceiling. There are fitted wardrobes with NON-adjustable rails. The room is lit by a ceiling light and 2 bedside table lights. T window to the room overlooks the pond and gives good natural day light. The floor is covered in a short pile carpet. On the bedside table a clock radio with alarm is provided.
The shower room is on the ground floor off from the kitchen area. The door into the room is 29" (74cm) wide, level entry into the room and shower cubicle. There are NO hand rails in the shower, its opening being 18" wide. The W.C is 17" (43cm) high, the wash basin 34" (87cm) high with mixer level taps. The room is lit by 2 flourescent lights finished with white tiled walls and non slip tiled floor.
Outside there is a large pond area (This is surrounded by low level railings) access to lawn area, large paved area, picnic tables and umbrellas. The garden inclines upwards to the Orchard. A covered seating area is provided by the pond.
